Your films and TV,
played the way they were mastered.
Encore Cinema turns your own collection into a beautiful cinema on your TV. It plays the original files, untouched: 4K, Dolby Vision and HDR, with lossless Dolby TrueHD and Atmos sent straight to your sound system. No transcoding, no adverts, no streaming service deciding what you can watch.

Built for people who care how it looks and sounds
The original file, untouched
No transcoding and no compression on the way. What's on your drive is what reaches your TV, frame for frame.
Lossless Dolby Atmos
Dolby TrueHD and Atmos go to your AV receiver or soundbar as a bitstream, exactly as on the disc, on streaming boxes that can pass it through.
4K, Dolby Vision and HDR10
Full 4K remuxes with Dolby Vision and HDR10, played by your TV box's own video hardware.
A library worth browsing
Posters, backdrops, collections, UK certificates and an A to Z, with filters for 4K, Atmos, unwatched and genre.
Pick up where you left off
Continue watching, the next episode ready to go, and the time a film will finish before you press play.
Private by design
Your library stays on your own computer and your home network. No account, no tracking, no adverts.

How it works
- Install Encore Cinema Server on a Windows PC
Point it at your film and TV folders, on the PC or on a NAS. It reads what's there, including any artwork and details you already keep beside your films. - Install the Encore Cinema app on your TV
Google TV, Android TV (such as Nvidia Shield) or Amazon Fire TV. - Pair with a code, and press play
The TV finds your PC on your home network. Enter the code it shows, and your whole collection is there.
Got Encore Audio too? The same TV app plays your music library, bit-perfect, with your films and TV. Encore Cinema also works perfectly well on its own. About Encore Audio
Questions
When can I get it, and what will it cost?
Encore Cinema is in development now, and we'll open a beta first. Prices aren't decided yet. Register your interest below and we'll tell you as soon as you can try it.
Does it change or compress my films?
No. It never transcodes: your TV box plays the original file. That means the box needs to support the format, which most modern 4K streaming boxes do for HEVC, Dolby Vision and HDR10.
Will I hear Dolby Atmos?
If your film has a Dolby TrueHD Atmos track and your streaming box can pass it through to an Atmos receiver or soundbar, yes: Encore Cinema sends it untouched. We've tested this with an Amazon Fire TV Cube through an LG TV to a Sonos Arc Ultra.
Which TVs and boxes does it work with?
It's made for Google TV and Android TV devices and Amazon Fire TV. During the beta we'll be testing on as many of them as we can. A phone app is planned.
Where do the posters and film details come from?
Artwork and details saved beside your films come first, in the common Kodi format. Anything missing can be looked up online.
Do I need Encore Audio?
No. Encore Cinema works on its own. If you also have Encore Audio, one app on your TV gives you films, TV and music.
